Our first venture into knitwear started with a simple idea: create the perfect layering piece for women who live in activewear, but still want to feel refined.

We knew from the beginning that fabric would define the piece. After months of sourcing and sampling, we chose 100% Australian Merino wool for its softness, breathability, and ability to regulate temperature naturally. Unlike synthetic fibres, Merino adapts to the body, keeping you warm without overheating, making it ideal for movement, travel, studio mornings, and everyday wear.
From there, the construction became just as important as the yarn itself.

The cardigan was developed as a fully fashioned knit, a process that is far more technical and time intensive than traditional cut-and-sew knitwear. Rather than cutting pattern pieces from fabric and stitching them together afterwards, each panel is knitted to shape individually on the machine. This allows for cleaner lines, a more considered fit, and significantly less material waste.
Fully fashioned knitting also creates a garment that feels more refined in the way it sits against the body. Every curve, proportion, and finish is engineered during the knitting process itself, which is why the development stage took time. From the weight of the knit to the placement of the thumb holes and the custom button loop closures inspired by traditional Tang jackets, every detail was adjusted repeatedly until it felt right.
It’s a more expensive way to produce knitwear, but for us, it was the only way this piece made sense.
